Lana Del Rey – Mulberry’s New Inspiration!
British handbag company Mulberry announced their new range of handbags in this February’s London Fashion Week, which they have named after the celebrated Lana Del Rey. Lana Del Rey has already become popular since her debut record single ‘Video Games’ has created a whirlwind on internet, earning as many as 20 million views. Then her second studio album ‘Born To Die’ has acquired numero uno position in as many as nineteen countries. And now the singer-song writer has stepped into the fashion world successfully, with first an invitation by Emma Hill, Creative Director of Mulberry to perform at their Pool Party at Chateau Marmont, LA, and now the naming of the British brand’s new handbags after her. Emma loves Del Rey’s nostalgic references to past glamour and her retrospective and at the same time her modern looks inspire Mulberry to create bags which are timeless and elegant, with a uniqueness which will suit any woman. The Del Rey bag is homage to the performer, as said by Hill. The Mulberry Del Rey bags are exquisite and appealing, and are expected to attract attention of the fashion-conscious crowd.
The handbag line was displayed at Mulberry’s Autumn/Winter catwalk at London Fashion Week, for which Lana Del Rey flaunted a handbag, which, as per the company, is a handbag which implies structure and at the same time is soft and tactile to carry on the tradition of Mulberry.
Mulberry has dedicated a handbag line to a celebrity before this too and it was Alexa Chung after whom they named their much sought-after Alexa satchels. Just like Alexa Chung, Lana Del Rey too will actually wear the bag, at the time of launch in May.
The Del Rey bags will be coming in Deer Brown Grainy Print, Black Soft Spongy, Petrol Veg Tanned Lambskin and Black Forest Soft Matte leathers. Just have a look at this superb lineup!
